چکیده
The service life of artificial joints has gradually failed to meet the needs patients. Herein, synergistic lubrication and antioxidant efficacies graphene oxide (GO) fullerenol (Fol) as biological lubricant additives for were investigated. mechanisms containing GO Fol at friction interface then revealed. Tribological tests showed that average coefficients Al2O3–Ti6Al4V pairs Ti6Al4V–UHMWPE could be reduced by 30% 22%, respectively, when used simultaneously. mechanism some incommensurate sliding contact surfaces formed between nanosheets spherical interface, which interaction forces pairs. maximum scavenging rates •OH DPPH free radicals 35% 45%, showing a good efficacy lubricant. This can attributed through electron transfer hydrogen transfer. study provides theoretical basis development application carbon nanomaterials in future.

Hydrostatic and boundary lubrication of joints--nature of boundary lubricant.
A very low coefficient of friction in joints makes it difficult to define clearly the mechanism of cartilage lubrication. The present paper describes the two currently predominant and mutually complementary views aiming to elucidate this mechanism. The first mechanism, referred to as hydrostatic lubrication, involves interstitial fluid pressurization from the cartilage and its importance for th...
متن کاملTribological Behaviors of Graphene and Graphene Oxide as Water-Based Lubricant Additives for Magnesium Alloy/Steel Contacts
The tribological behaviors of graphene and graphene oxide (GO) as water-based lubricant additives were evaluated by use of a reciprocating ball-on-plate tribometer for magnesium alloy-steel contacts. Three sets of test conditions were examined to investigate the effect of concentration, the capacity of carrying load and the endurance of the lubrication film, respectively. The results showed tha...
متن کاملSynergistic Effect of MoS2 and SiO2 Nanoparticles as Lubricant Additives for Magnesium Alloy–Steel Contacts
The tribological performances of the SiO₂/MoS₂ hybrids as lubricant additives were explored by a reciprocating ball-on-flat tribometer for AZ31 magnesium alloy/AISI 52100 bearing steel pairs. The results demonstrated that the introduction of SiO₂/MoS₂ hybrids into the base oil exhibited a significant reduction in the friction coefficient and wear volume as well as an increase in load bearing ca...
متن کاملEnergy efficient reduced graphene oxide additives: Mechanism of effective lubrication and antiwear properties
Optimized concentration of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) in the lube is one of the important factors for effective lubrication of solid body contacts. At sufficiently lower concentration, the lubrication is ineffective and friction/wear is dominated by base oil. In contrast, at sufficiently higher concentration, the rGO sheets aggregates in the oil and weak interlayer sliding characteristic of g...
متن کاملGraphite and Hybrid Nanomaterials as Lubricant Additives
Lubricant additives, based on inorganic nanoparticles coated with organic outer layer, can reduce wear and increase load-carrying capacity of base oil remarkably, indicating the great potential of hybrid nanoparticles as anti-wear and extreme-pressure additives with excellent levels of performance. The organic part in the hybrid materials improves their flexibility and stability, while the inor...
